Founded by Master John Bracy in 1976, the Chi-Arts and associated Hsing Chen organizations are dedicated to research, preservation, and instruction of Qigong, Taoist internal training methods, and the internal martial arts. We focus on Taoist yoga, Qigong training and Qigong (chi-kung) meditation and the arts of Ba Gua (baguazhang), Hsing-I (xingyiquan) and T'ai-chi (taijiquan)
Long before ancient Taoists developed the concept of Qi (ch'i) flow through the body, their focus was on "breathing arts. However, Taoist breathing arts are not designed to focus on the "breath" per se, instead their aim is to teach the practitioner to master control of the diaphragm. Through this kind of masterful control over the interior of the body, pressure waves can be directed as a type of interior "massage," enhance qigong, or, with self-defense, used to weaken an opponent.
